Lake Coeur d'Alene-Independance Point

Nestled in the heart of scenic Coeur d'Alene, Independence Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene is a photogenic paradise that beckons dog owners and photographers alike. With its stunning views and convenient proximity to the Coeur d'Alene Resort, it's a must-visit location for anyone looking to create memorable moments with their furry friend.

The iconic Coeur d'Alene Resort & Tubbs Hill in your backdrop means you'll go home with some epic vacation photos!

However, like any picturesque location, it comes with its set of challenges.

Independence Point boasts breathtaking views of Lake Coeur d'Alene, complete with crystal-clear waters and rolling mountains in the background. The glistening water and lush surroundings create the perfect backdrop for your dog's photoshoot, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

However, this slice of paradise does come with a few challenges. The most significant being the fact that dogs are not allowed on the beach or the grassy areas. This means we'll need to strategically position your dog and plan your shots on the sidewalk.

The sidewalk at Independence Point is a beautiful and well-maintained space, but it's important to remember that it is also part of the Centennial Trail, a busy jogging and cycling path. During peak hours, this can make capturing that perfect shot a bit tricky. The constant flow of joggers, cyclists, and pedestrians passing by might be distracting for your dog, and it can be challenging to find moments of tranquility for your photoshoot.

To overcome this challenge, timing is key. For the best results, consider visiting Independence Point during the off-season or non-peak hours. Early mornings and weekdays might offer a more serene environment, allowing you and your furry friend to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty without distractions.

While Independence Point is a captivating location, it may not be suitable for all dogs. Some pups are not overly bothered by passersby and may handle the distractions with ease. However, for more skittish or easily excitable dogs, this may not be the ideal location for your photoshoot.

Independence Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene is a stunning backdrop for capturing precious moments with your four-legged friend. The location is conveniently situated for those staying at the Coeur d'Alene Resort, but it's essential to be aware of the challenges it presents, particularly regarding dogs not being allowed on the beach or grass and the busy pedestrian traffic. With strategic planning and a little patience, Independence Point can provide the perfect setting for a memorable photoshoot with your beloved canine companion.

**These images were shot on a Tuesday afternoon in October right at sunset. Crowds are typically smaller on weekdays, and in the off-season.
