Skye- Frisbee, Family, & Feeding Pets In Need

Some dogs just have a way of stealing your heart, and Skye is one of them. This long-haired German Shepherd is full of energy, love, and a deep devotion to her family. And now, she’s got something extra special to celebrate—she’s the March feature dog in the 2025 Colorado Pet Pantry Calendar!

But Skye’s story isn’t just about gorgeous photos. With the help of her family and friends, she raised $875 for Colorado Pet Pantry, providing food for 175 pets in need. That’s 175 families who got to keep their beloved pets at home instead of having to surrender them due to financial struggles.

Let’s take a look back at her unforgettable photo session and the impact she made along the way.

A Change of Plans & The Perfect Spot

We originally planned to capture Skye’s playful spirit at Lions Park in Golden, but the timing wasn’t ideal. Lawn mowers were roaring, the usually peaceful creek had turned into a loud, rushing torrent, and Skye made it clear—this was not her vibe.

So, we pivoted. A few blocks away, we found a quieter park with plenty of room for frisbee and some fun rocks to climb. It turned out to be the perfect setting for Skye to do what she does best—run, play, and just be herself.

If there’s one thing Skye lives for, it’s chasing her frisbee. She went all in—sprinting, leaping, and catching like a pro. But beyond her athleticism, Skye is all about her family. Her moms, Mel & Lisa, and her housemate, Jessie, joined in for some cozy family moments on the grass, making for some truly heartwarming photos.

This session was also deeply personal. Skye was there to honor her big brother, Fabio, who had recently passed away. The love this family carries for him could be felt throughout our session.

While not as big on Frizbee as Skye, little Jessie did enjoy snuffling through the grass for some dropped treats.

Skye’s session wasn’t just about beautiful photos—it was part of a bigger mission. As a contestant in the Colorado Pet Pantry Calendar contest, she set out to help pets stay with their families during tough times.

And she delivered. $875 raised. 175 pets fed. A simple act, but one that made a world of difference.
