Clarence's Birthday Adventure

The Big Reveal

When Stacey told me that Clarence's birthday wish was have a super-fun photography adventure I couldn't help but oblige the adorable teddy bear! As our April 20th photo session approached I watched the local vegetation closely for signs of Spring greenery. While the grasses and shrubs started coming alive early in April, the bigger trees seemed to have hit the snooze button. So a last minute change of venue took us up to the evergreens of Lookout Mountain.

Little Clarence didn't seem to mind one bit though as he frolicked through the woods. Happily climbing over fallen logs and checking out the most interesting of forest smells.

Clarence's Mom, Stacey, is a huge Hockey fan, so naming her new pup after the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, which is awarded by the NHL during playoffs seemed like a natural fit.

As puppies go, Clarence is a pretty good boy. He mostly reserves his puppy crazies for his toys. Though his two favorite games are fetch and attacking his mom's feet. Which would probably be an easier habit to break if it wasn't so stinking cute!

Clarence loves any opportunity to snuggle and sleeps with his little nose nestled into his mom's neck.

As you can imagine, when I heard it was Clarence's first birthday I absolutely had to plan a very special surprise for him!

With a huge thank you to Cosmo's Dog Bakery for making such a beautiful birthday cake!

Clarence certainly seemed to enjoy it too! But then how often do you get to dig into a cake that's as big as you are?!

Sweet Clarence is still very much a puppy, but when I got a moment to interview him here's what he shared with me. "I moved in with my mom in June.  I’m pretty impressed that she was already well trained.  She shares her bed, takes me on adventures, and to daycare.  I also have lots of toys and treats.  I can’t figure out why she gives me baths all the time.  I hate that, but all things considered, I’m a happy, happy boy. "
