Lions Park

Location in gorgeous Golden, Colorado,

Lions Park is an ideal all season location. With a manicured park located just across the street from the Clear Creek and only a block from a heritage farm. This location is like having four spots in one. We get an amazing variety of shots within short walking distance. I'd love to pretend like this is a great find of mine but this park is probably one of the most popular photo spots in the whole Denver area. And it's no wonder. Clear Creek runs right through the heart of the park. And all along its winding banks are large stepped boulders just begging to be part of your family photos. It's an easy climb out onto the boulders in the creek, and there are shallow inlets for pups to play in the water. If you don't mind a little trek you can capture the mountains peaking out in the background. Plus, the historic farm is fun to explore for a few rustic photos.

The only downside to this gorgeous park is that it’s extremely popular, especially during the Fall. Making it a less than ideal choice for dogs who struggle with having other dogs and strangers in the vicinity. If you really love this location, but your dog is highly distracted consider planning for a weekday morning when the park is at it quietest.
